A law firm hired by local taxing entities are preparing a partial list of delinquent taxpayers for the purpose of publishing the names in local media.

The list will be randomly generated from all delinquent tax accounts in Orange County but will not be based upon dollar amounts.

The list will be compiled from public information and will include the name of the assessed party and the total amount owed on their property. Once compiled the list will be submitted to local news organizations so that the names can be published, according to a public notice.

Taxpayers that believe that their name might appear on this list should take immediate action to insure that it is not published. The law firm recently mailed demand letters to all area delinquent taxpayers advising them of their outstanding tax balance and requesting payment.

The list is expected to be ready for publication in several weeks and payment of delinquent taxes can be made in person at either the Tax Office in Orange at 123 S.6^th Street or in Vidor at 155 Wilson, online at http://www.co.orange.tx.us or by mail to P.O. Box 1568, Orange 77631-1568.
