Three shootings on Monday, one Friday

Two men shot at an Orange County Sheriff Deputy at approximately 9:25 p.m. Monday in the area o Bridal Wreath and Dahlia in Orange.

It was one of four reported shootings in Orange with the first one taking place on Friday and three on Monday.

In all four incidents, no injuries were reported as the persons of interest shot at the vehicles.

On Friday, a woman reported to Orange Police Department someone shot at her and her husband’s vehicle at approximately 7:45 p.m. near 2nd Street and West Morrell Blvd. on Friday.

The woman and her husband had stopped to speak to a friend who was near the road way when a person in another vehicle stopped, got out of the car and stood in front of their vehicle before shooting at it five times.

The shooter then left the scene.

While the couple was not injured, the vehicle received damage and a tire needed to be patched after a bullet had pierced it.

Monday afternoon, Orange Police Department responded to a call at approximately 12:30 p.m. in reference to two vehicles possibly firing weapons at each other in the roadway near 2nd and Schley in Orange.

While officers could not locate anybody at the scene, an individual walked into the police station to report the incident.

Two women reported a known male fired several rounds at their vehicle.

The incident on Friday and the Monday afternoon may be the same individual.

As a man was driving down 16th Street at 9:10 p.m. Monday, a vehicle pulled up beside his and lowered the window just enough for the victim to see the persons eyes before pointing firearm at the man.

The driver heard a bullet hit his vehicle and laid down on his seat before accelerating north bound. The victim then pulled into a parking lot and ran inside for help. A witness also ran inside and said there were two individuals outside with guns according to a police report.

While officers were on the scene for the 16th Street incident, another call came in concerning a two black males were firing at an Orange County deputy vehicle near Bridal Wreath and Dahlia in Orange.

The deputies reported they were shot at by two black males and one deputy returned fire.  The deputy’s vehicle was damaged from the gun shots.  No persons were injured during the exchanged of gun fire.

During the investigation two persons of interest were identified and located in the area. Two black males were questioned and both gave statements.  This is an ongoing investigation by the Orange Police Department and no arrest has been made at this time, according to a press release.
