A fundraiser scheduled for June 10 was canceled after Steven “Piggy” Angell Sr. lost his battle with cancer.

The event was intended to help with burial costs and to show Angelle how much he is loved according to his daughter, Kimberly Joseph.

“He has battled cancer off and on for three years,” Joseph said in an email. “It was discovered when he went for a check up from the first time he had cancer.”

While the event itself is canceled, the family is still seeking donations to assist with the burial.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. June 10, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church on 612 3rd Street in Orange.
