The Orange Leader
Hi there! I am a life-long Orangeite who is currently living in Paris. I am spending this year teaching English, improving my French, and exploring France (and some of its neighboring countries) before heading to college this fall. Keep reading to find out what’s been going on “Meanwhile With Madeleine.” Thanks for allowing me to share my adventures with you!
My grandmother recently asked me if I could host “Steven” for her friend’s granddaughter’s “Flat Stanley” project. Steven and I have been to the Louvre, Notre Dame, and several other famous landmarks together. We’re heading to the Eiffel Tower tomorrow to wrap up our little sightseeing tour.
The second and final round of the French presidential election is quickly approaching. The first round took place on April 23 and narrowed the number of candidates down to two. On May 7th, the French will choose between Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen for their next president. It’s been really interesting to experience the election process in France. I feel like I’ve gained a much deeper understanding of the French culture as a result of being here at this particular time.
My dad is planning to come for a visit later this month. I’m looking forward to catching up and doing some traveling around France and Switzerland together.
