Golfers wrap up solid season at regionals

HUNTSVILLE — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears and Orangefield Bobcats boys golf teams wrapped up a solid season at the Class 4A Region III Golf Tournament at Ravens Nest Thursday.
The Bears finished eighth overall as a team firing a 722 (366-356). The Bobcats placed 14th overall with a 865 (433-432).
Robinson won the team crown with a 636 (333-303) while Madisonville took second with a 656 (329-327).
LC-M’s Trey Love tied for 17th overall with a 168 (82-86). He was followed by teammates Jack Tindel , who was 33rd with a 175 (90-85), Evan Toohey, who was 46th with a 185 (101-84), Blade Broussard, who was 57th with a 196 (95-101) and Spencer Johns, who was 67th with a 206 (99-107).
Orangefield’s Logan Risinger placed 35th with a 177 (88-89). He was followed by teammates Ryan Braxton, who was 72nd with a 220 (111-109), Brock Cross, who was 74th with a 228 (115-113), Caleb Kress, who was 77th with a 240 (119-121) and Chase Broussard, who was 80th with a 247 (124-123).
Bridge City’s Blaze Montagne nabbed 49th by firing a 189 (95-94).
Madisonville’s Sam Bennett took the individual crown with a 144 (74-70) while Robinson’s Chase Allison was second with a 151 (77-74).
