Mustangs rally to take down Longhorns

WEST ORANGE – West Orange-Stark made sure it stayed alone in first-place in the District 22-4A standings Thursday night despite getting a tough fight from the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns at Anderson Park.

The Mustangs trailed 3-0 but rallied with four unanswered runs to notch a 4-3 victory.

The win pushes the Mustangs to 18-3 overall and a perfect 7-0 in 22-4A play.

Tre Bernard got the win on the hill for the Mustangs while Jack Dallas notched the save.

The Mustangs scored the game-winning run in the sixth when Chad Dallas brought in Jack Dallas with a sacrifice fly. Chad Dallas had two runs batted in for the game.

BB Tezeno had a pair of hits and two steals while KJ Miller roped a double.

The Mustangs will welcome in Bridge City Tuesday.

The Longhorns dropped to 10-11 overall and 1-6 in district.
