Bobcats mow down Bears 3-1

ORANGEFIELD —The Orangefield Bobcats took the lead late in the game in a 3-1 victory over Little Cypress-Mauriceville on Friday in District 22-4A action.

The Bobcats improved to 12-3 overall and 2-1in 22-4A play while the Bears slipped to 10-9 overall and 0-3 in district.

The game was tied at one with the Bobcats batting in the bottom of the sixth when Johnny Armstrong singled, driving in two runs.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Ryon Stubblefield struck out 11, while LCM’s Slade Green sat down three.

Stubblefield earned the win for Orangefield. He went seven innings, giving up one run, six hits, striking out 11, and walking one.

The Bobcats will visit WO-S Tuesday while the Bears return home to face Silsbee.
