Citizens will need to find alternate routes this weekend as major traffic detours will make changes to 16^th Street and Interstate 10 this weekend.

A major traffic detour scheduled March 31-April 3. All I-10 eastbound traffic will be detoured to the frontage road at the SH 87 exit and re-enter the interstate just past N 8th Street. Westbound I-10 traffic will be down to one lane during this time as well. In addition to the main lane closures, SH 87 at I-10 will be closed during this period. The closure will take place from 7 p.m. March 31 to 7 a.m. April 3. The closure is necessary for the construction of the new SH 87 overpass currently being built as part of the I-10 reconstruction project from Adams Bayou to the Sabine River according to TxDOTs official Facebook page
