Bobcats rally to down Longhorns in 22-4A opener

OANGEFIELD — The red-hot Orangefield Bobcats captured their District 22-4A opener at home Tuesday night by downing the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns 8-4.

The Bobcats (11-2, 1-0) rallied from a 4-3 deficit in the sixth inning as they scored five unanswered runs to finish the game.

Ryon Stubblefield tossed five innings, allowing three hits while fanning nine. Johnny Armstrong tossed two innings of relief to nab the victory.

Stubblefield also had two hits, including a two-run single in the top of the sixth to give the Bobcats the lead.

Mason Gonzales, Brett Fregia and Kent Michael contributed two hits as well.

The Bobcats will travel to Silsbee Friday.
