An opportunity to meet the candidates running for Orange City Council is 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, at Lamar State College – Orange in the Student Center in the gym.

Citizens who wish to submit questions for the candidates may arrive at 5:30 p.m.

“The questions are from the Lamar students,” Sandra Hoke, a member of the Citizens for an Improved Orange, said. “We will also take questions at the day of the event, as time permits.”

Residents will also have an opportunity to speak with the candidates one on one prior to the forum.

Hoke said she became involved with the organizing the forum for her personal concerns of the lack of recycling in the area.

“Orange needs to be able to put it’s best foot forward so when people come here, they want to stay,” Hoke said.

“This is an opportunity to ask questions of the candidates about concerns of the citizens and the issues affecting people where they are represented,” Nikki Guity said.

All six candidates have agreed to participate in the forum.
