On March 10, 2017, Officers with the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the 1300 Block of 16^th Street in reference to an attempted burglary and voyeurism.   Officers learned that the residence had been burglarized months earlier and the homeowner has since reported other criminal incidents on her property.

Due to the incidents on her property, the homeowner installed hidden cameras around her property. The homeowner reviewed the home security footage and observed an unknown black male enter into her garage and attempt to shove her door open and attempt to break a window. The suspect returned a short time later and is observed peeping into her window and masturbating. While further investigating the incident, Detectives were able to identify and arrest the suspect.

Davelle Burnett, 23 of Lake Charles, was charged with Burglary (Attempted) and Obscenity.

Judge Wyatt set bond at $50,000.
