A man attempted to resist arrest was charged with public intoxication after creating a disturbance at approximately 4:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at the 5200 block of Bland Lane in Orange.

According to the person residing at the home, the man arrived unannounced and began to cause a disturbance.

The officer was able to smell alcohol on the person according to a police report.

Damon Martin, of Orange, was arrested for public intoxication.

As Martin was being placed in the patrol car for transport to the County Jail, he refused to sit in the patrol car.

The officer was able to get Martin in the vehicle without further incident.
