LC-M girls

SWEENY — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears pounded Van Vleck 13-3 at the Sweeny Tournament on Friday.

The Lady Bears defeated Rice Consolidated 8-0 on Saturday and fell to host Sweeny 1-0.

LC-M finished the tourney with a 5-1 mark.

Brianna Frenzel nabbed the win on the hill. Jayce Perry pitched the last three innings with shutout ball.

Maddie Murdock was 3-for-3 at the plate with a triple and a double. Frenzel went 2-for-2 and Ashley Short was 2-for-3.

Against Rice Consolidated Renna Toomey got the win on the hill, notching seven strikeouts and allowed three hits.

Murdock was 2-for-2 at the plate while Short was 2-for-3 and Leavings and Henry both went 2-for-3.

In the loss to Sweeny, Short had a double.
