UPDATE: Lake Charles PD seeks publics help in locating man involved in cold case

UPDATE: On January 31, 2017 at 6:45p.m., McKartney Young, the suspect in the cold case murder investigation of Misty Guillory turned himself in with his attorney present to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Department.

 

PRESS RELEASE — On Thursday, August 21, 2003 the Lake Charles Police Department responded to a female lying in the roadway in the 4200 block of East Prien Lake Road, near the railroad tracks. Investigation revealed that a female, later identified as 15 year old Misty Guillory had been struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene leaving Ms. Guillory’s body in the roadway.

On Thursday, January 26, 2017, Detective Sergeant Fondel who was investigating Ms. Guillory’s cold case homicide went before the Calcasieu Parish Grand Jury with new information and evidence. After the case was presented to the Grand Jury, the Grand Jury returned an indictment of 2nd Degree Murder against McKartney N. Young, 31 years of age. His last known address is 508 West Hwy 90, Iowa, Louisiana.

The Lake Charles Police Department is asking for your assistance in locating McKartney Young. Anyone with information is asked to notify Detective Sergeant Fondel at 337-491-1311 or call 911

Any person or persons discovered to be helping McKartney Young evade arrest shall themselves be arrested for aiding and abetting a fugitive.
