Overcoming barriers by strengthening families and family value is the goal of the Orange Branch National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

The organization plans to follow H.E.L.P. Humanities and Human Services, Economics, Entrepreneurship and Education, Leadership, Legislation, Prosperity and Prominence.

President Demetrius Moffett requests persons with concerns to present to the branch to submit in writing by email at orangebranchnaacp@gmail.com or P.O. Box 1402, Orange, Texas 77630.

“This will give me an opportunity to start addressing it before the next meeting,” Moffett said at the Thursday night meeting.

The branch also plans to hold a Black History Parade on February 25.

The next meeting is 7 p.m. Thurs., Feb. 23, at the WOCCISD Administration Building located at 902 West Park Ave. in Orange.
