PRESS RELEASE — A West Orange – Cove CISD school vehicle was involved in an accident this morning (Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017) at approximately 6:30 a.m. The vehicle, driven by a West Orange – Stark High School teacher, was entering the I-10 access ramp at Highway 62 when it hit a patch of ice and flipped.

All students were transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital. One student was treated for a broken collarbone. Another student was treated for a fractured eye socket. A third student was treated for a possible concussion. The remaining students were released to their parents.

The students were traveling to the annual High School Student Council Winter Retreat in Houston.
