LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears dropped a tight 47-45 decision to the Hardin-Jefferson Hawks at The Bear Cave Tuesday night in non-district action.

Guard Ayson Simmons led the Bears with 13 points.

Zane Zbranek paced Hardin-Jefferson with 15 points and nailed what was the game-winning shot with 17 seconds remaining.

In other non-district action Tuesday, the Bridge City Cardinals fell on the road against Liberty 62-47.

In girls action the Bridge City Lady Cardinals lost on the road to Liberty 42-16 as Masen Tyler tallied eight of the Lady Cardinal points. The West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs fell to Hardin-Jefferson 55-25.
