From staff reportsGreenlight A Vet is a campaign to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green.

Green is the color of hope, renewal and well-being. “Greenlight” is also a term commonly used to activate forward movement. The simple gesture of changing one light to green creates a beacon of support and appreciation, and a visible symbol of commitment to “greenlight” veterans forward as valued members of our communities, according to http://www.greenlightavet.com/

To become involved with the Greenlight a Vet movement, Change one light in a visible location in your home or office to green, and keep it glowing every day as a symbol of support and appreciation for our veterans.

Then, share your support by taking a picture of your green light and posting it using the hashtag #greenlightavet.

Last year, the City of Pinehurst changed all exterior lighting at the City of Pinehurst Municipal building to green to show support for Veterans.

Veteran’s Day is November 11.
