HUNTSVILLE — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Cross Country team punched in their State ticket by placing third overall as a team Saturday in Huntsville in the 4A Region III Cross Country Championships.

The Bears will now advance to the Class 4A State Cross Country Championships Nov. 12 in Round Rock.

The Bears finished with 110 points, which got them third overall in a talented 14-team field.

Liberty Hill won the Region III title with 72 points while China Spring snagged third with 90.

Eli Peveto led the Bears with a third-place finish.

Peveto was followed by teammates Jackson Baeza (12^th), Blake Kresser (19^th), Rayce Piper (23^rd), Braden Bridges (59^th), Trevor Turner (137) and Stephen Kursk (144^th).
