Lady Bears down OF, face Silsbee showdown

LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears set themselves up for a big showdown Tuesday night after they defeated the Orangefield Lady Bobcats 25-14, 15-25, 25-18, 25-14 at The Bear Cave Friday night.

The win pushed the Lady Bears to 27-13 overall and 8-1 in district play. The Lady Bears will host first-place Silsbee Tuesday. A LC-M win would put the two teams tied for first-place to end the regular season.

For the Lady Bears against Orangefield, Renna Toomey had one ace, five kills, two assist and 11 digs. Kayla Dominguez posted one ace, 35 assists and eight digs. Kaitlin Avery notched eight kills and 14 digs.

Raley Broussard had an ace, seven kills, 22 assists, and digs. Ally White had 13 kills, four assists, 13 digs and three blocks. Berkley Dobranski posted an ace, 10 kills, one assist and 12 digs. Madison Taggart claimed 12 kills, four digs and four blocks. Isa Weizenegger had one assist and 12 digs. Hallie Stack notched six kills, one assist, nine digs and two blocks while McCartney Miller had one assist and 14 digs.

For Orangefield Ashlyn Turley had three kills, four digs and 21 assists. Anna VanPelt posted eight digs and six kills. Shelby Perales chimed in with two aces and seven kills.

Jessica Metts had six kills. Evie Arceneaux claimed three kills and 16 digs. Faith Fregia collected 24 digs. Bailee Click had eight kills while Devany Crain and Taylor Decker had 10 digs apiece.
