Lady Bears fall to Silsbee; WO-S tops OF

SILSBEE — The Silsbee Lady Tigers downed the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears in a battle for first-place in district play Friday, winning 16-25, 25-21, 25-23, 20-25, 15-7.

The Lady Tigers improved to 5-0 to wrap up the first half of district play while the Lady Bears (22-13) are in second with a 4-1 mark.

For the Lady Bears Renna Toomey had two aces, 12 kills, 13 digs and four blocks.
Kayla Diminguez notched 10 assists and three digs. Morgan Weaver posted two kills, 28 assists, and 19 digs. Kaitlin Avery claimed eight kills, 18 digs, and 3 blocks.
Raley Broussard got nine digs. Ally White posted six kills, three digs, and six blocks. Berkley Dobranski contributed one ace, three kills, one assist, 12 digs, and three blocks. Madison Taggart notched one ace, nine kills, one assist, six digs, and 12 blocks. Isa Weizenegger had two digs. Hallie Stack had a dig and a block and McCartney Miller had 15 digs.

The Lady Bears host West Orange-Stark Friday.

ORANGEFIELD — The West Orange-Stark Lady Mustangs swept the Orangefield Lady Bobcats 25-21, 25-13, 25-21 in district volleyball action Friday.

The Lady Mustangs wrapped up the first half of district play 2-3 while Orangefield went 1-4.

For Orangefield Ashlyn Turley had three kills, three digs and 16 assists.

Bailee Click had seven kills. Evie Arceneaux cotributed four kills and 15 digs. Anna VanPelt chimed in with two aces, three kills, and eight digs. Taylor Decker had nine digs while Devany Crain had five. Jessica Metts finsihed with five kills and two solo blocks.

WO-S goes to LC-M Tuesday while Orangefield visits Bridge City.
