Special to The Leader
The weather was nice and the turnout was great this past Tuesday, October 4, 2016, for the inaugural Bridge City National Night Out at Bridge City Park.
Attendees were treated to free food, games, give-a-ways and lots of children’s activities courtesy of thirty-four local businesses and organizations from the area.
Certificates of appreciation were presented to the Bridge City Police Department, Bridge City Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Acadian Ambulance, and Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
This event is held on the first Tuesday in October each year throughout the state of Texas in an effort to build good community relations between local law enforcement and first responders and the people they serve.
The Bridge City Chamber of Commerce plans to continue hosting this event again in 2017.
If you would like to participate in the 2017 National Night Out, please call B. J. Hanneman at the Bridge City Chamber 409-735-5671.
