PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 2:45p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County.  The crash occurred approximately two miles west of the Texas-Louisiana border.

A 2014 Chevrolet pickup truck towing a utility trailer was traveling eastbound on Interstate 10 near the  Texas-Louisiana border.  The pickup truck had an unsecured load and a toolbox fell off the trailer onto the Interstate.  A white pickup truck was traveling eastbound in the inside lane and swerved left to avoid the tool box.  A 2014 Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer also traveling eastbound on the Interstate veered to the left to avoid striking the toolbox and struck the white pickup truck, wedging the pickup truck between itself and the concrete dividing wall.  After colliding with the white pickup truck, the 18-wheeler rear-ended a 2007 Toyota pickup truck causing it to rear-end an Acura passenger vehicle.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, 53-year-old Anthony Vann of Conroe, was transported by ambulance to Baptist Orange with minor injuries.  The driver of the Toyota pickup truck, 46-year-old Clifford Harder of Louisiana, was also transported to Baptist Orange with minor injuries.

No other occupants were injuries in the crash.

Cobb was issued a traffic citation for failure to secure load.
