Subvarsity football results: BC and WO-S

The Bridge City JV Cardinals hosted Newton Thursday night and came out with a hard fought victory, winning by a score 8-6. The entire game was back and forth. Preston Peterson ran 48 yards scoring a touchdown and Ethan Morgan added the two point conversion. (8-0) The Cardinal defense kept Newton out of the end-zone until the 4th quarter, and then came up big keeping the Eagles from converting on the two point conversion. Defensive standouts were Corey Westlund (fumble recovery), Christian Young (fumble recovery), and Ky Terrell (2 interceptions).  Offensive standouts were Adam Snyder, Randy Abate, and Jack Fontenot.

The BC 8th grade team fell to Newton 22-0. Sam Carpenter led the offense for the Cardinals on the ground. Cody Howard led the defense, while both Austin Richardson and Elijah Hicks had interceptions. Oscar Carranza had several nice punts.

The BC 7th grade team defeated Newton 24-12. The offensive line did a great job opening up holes. Several running backs had big nights including Ethan Oceguera, Cale Newson, Deegan King, Dorian Pruitt, Riley Williamson, Shayan Rahim, Jake Carlin, and Ethan Hart. The defense was led by Trey Hebert, Harrison Gauthier, and J.T Fielder.

The BCMS football teams will play Livingston on today. 8th grade at home and 7th grade on the road.

WO-S JH

The WOSMS football teams kicked of their season with 3 wins over the Silsbee Tigers. In the first game of the night the 8B team won by a score of 8-0. Jasachin Harris scored a rushing touchdown and two point conversion along with great running from Iverson Godfrey to lead the offense. Defensively the Stallions were lead with two big turnovers and solid play from Cristhofer Rodriguez. Mathhew Wilridge intercepted a pass early and Robert Peeples recovered a fumble. In the second game of the night the 7th grade team won convincingly by a score of 28-0. Quinton Walker and Ke’zayvier Richards each rushed for a touchdown and Jartayvon Craven connected with Jadon Jones for another touchdown. Craven and Richards each score on a two point conversion as well. The Stallion defense shutout the Tigers once again lead by solid play from Khaleen Johnson and two big interceptions. DeMarion Mouton scored on a pick six early in the first half followed by another  big interception from Cameron Judge late in the second half. In the final game of the night the 8A team completed the clean sweep of Silsbee with a 16-6 win. Jerren Terrell would score the Stallions only points on offense with a rushing touchdown. The defense was dominate all night long lead by Tyrone Brown and Clint Williams. The Stallions would regain the lead late in the 4th quarter with an interception by Artavious Samuel, a fumble recovery for a touchdown by Jalen Thompson and a saftey by Jerrold Brown. Jacob Dominguez would score on a two point conversion after the Thompson touchdown. The Stallions will have next week off and then travel to Jasper September 29th for their next games.
