The annual picnic was more than BBQ on Monday. Young and old gathered to visit, dance, hear he history of Pinehurst and listen to live music. The 17^th Annual Senior Citizen Labor Day Picnic began in 2000 after Pinehurst City workers were returning to the office discussing a man who was now living alone and how much it bothered them. The event started for Senior Citizens but now includes all ages. Donations fund the annual event each year.
