Gulf Coast Bird Club announces upcoming programs

The Gulf Coast Bird Club announces its’ Fall lineup of monthly meetings and field trips.
The next events are listed below. Attendance is open to anyone interested in birds, birding or nature appreciation. We have a really good group of folks and you will enjoy meeting them and learning from them during the events. The club meeting repeats every month on the Second Thursday each month and the field trip is always the Saturday following. The Beginner’s Bird Walk always occurs on the Fourth Saturday of the month at Sam Houston Jones State Park.
• August 27, Monthly Beginner’s Bird Walk at Sam Houston Jones State Park, 8-9 am.
• September 8, Monthly GCBC Meeting 7- 8:30 pm, at MSU’s Hardtner Hall, Mass Communications Department. This can be found at the corner of Sale Road and Common Street. The entrance is at the South East corner of the building and the meeting room is in the North East corner of the building.
• September 10 Monthly Birding Field Trip 8 am to about 3 pm. We usually meet at the bank parking lot on Ryan and College Street. We then carpool to local hotspots for birding. Normally you should pack a lunch and bring water or cold drinks, binoculars and you field guide. Riders normally share on gas money for the drivers.
• September 24, Monthly Beginner’s Bird Walk at Sam Houston Jones State Park, 8-9 am.
The Gulf Coast Bird Club is dedicated to promoting the knowledge and conservation of birdlife, other wildlife, natural habitats and natural resources; and to fostering an appreciation of our natural environment and of the significance of its influence upon human life. Founded in 1983, the Club seeks to provide educational opportunities to the general public and to other organizations regarding bird life.
