C.A.T. Team makes cocaine bust on I-10 in Lake Charles

Lake Charles, LA – On August 8th, 2016 at approximately 9:17 P.M., Cpl. Chad Booth with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T.) conducted a traffic stop on a 2016 Dodge passenger car eastbound on Interstate 10 near mile marker 36 (Lake Charles, LA) for a traffic violation.

The driver / single occupant of the vehicle was identified to be W/M Isidro Badillo, a current resident of Houston, Texas. During the course of the traffic stop Cpl. Booth observed driver Isidro Badillo to be overly nervous and act in a suspicious manor. Cpl. Chad Booth issued Isidro Badillo a notice of violation for the traffic offense. Based off the observations made by Cpl. Chad Booth during the course of the traffic stop concerning the overly nervous and suspicious actions of driver Isidro Badillo, Cpl. Chad Booth further requested permission to conduct a search of the vehicle. Isidro Badillo, granted the request providing Cpl. Chad Booth with written consent, and allowing Officer to conduct a search of the vehicle.

Cpl. Chad Booth conducted a search of the vehicle, further recovering approximately (8) large bundles of compressed powder cocaine totaling 20.5 pounds, with the estimated street value of $720,000.00 U.S. Currency. The (8) bundles of compressed cocaine were found to be concealed in the trunk compartment of the vehicle.

Isidro Badillo was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center, charged with Possession of CDS II (Cocaine) over 400 grams. Judge Guy Bradberry set Isidro Badillo’s bond at $500.000.00.
