UPDATE: One dead in one vehicle collision in Sabine County

UPDATED CRASH INFORMATION: On August 8, at approximately 7:30a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers responded to the scene of a commercial vehicle crash, which occurred on FM 1, about two miles north of Bronson. A 2005 Sterling dump truck, operated by the Texas Department of Transportation, was traveling northbound on FM 1in Sabine County. For an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed the center dividing line into the southbound traffic lane. The vehicle continued off the roadway and overturned in the ditch. The driver, 51-year-old Marvis Ethan Aulds of Brookeland, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Jamie Brasher. Aulds was ejected from the vehicle. At this time, all information is preliminary as Troopers work to determine the contributing factors of this fatal crash. There are no further details to be released.

On August 8, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to the scene of the commercial vehicle crash, which occurred on FM 1, about two miles north of Bronson. The preliminary crash investigation indicates the Texas DOT vehicle, a 2005 Sterling dump truck, was traveling northbound on FM 1. For unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed over the southbound lane and overturned in the ditch. The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased. Motorists are urged to use caution while traveling in this area while emergency officials investigate and clear the scene. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.
