“I think the property is sold,” Code Enforcement Officer for the City of Pinehurst Harry Vine said. “But as of now it is only permitted for demolition.”

Vine was commenting on the demolition under way at the corner of McArthur Drive and 28th Street. The property is being cleared but has not been permitted for any further work. Rumors are that a car wash will be constructed on that corner.

Vine continued that the city plans to reach out to land owners if their property has not been properly maintained.

“We will be working diligently trying to get people to clean up their lots,” Vine said. “We will be notifying property owners whose property needs attention.”

Vine also stated that help is available by calling the City of Pinehurst for those who may be impaired in some way to take care of their property on their own.
