On July 8, 1998 the body of Rose Born was discovered inside of her business, Paradise Donuts at 529 West 18th Street in Lake Charles. Born had been stabbed repeatedly and it was apparent that a very violent struggle had taken place. At that time, no suspect was developed and eventually, the case became cold.
