Man charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

Press release- On Sunday, May 15, 2016, at approximately 1:39 p.m., Officers with the Lake Charles Police Department responded to 2300 Channel Street, in reference to a shooting.

Upon Officers arrival they discovered that all parties involved had left the scene. Officers learned that two male subjects were involved in a verbal argument with one subject producing a firearm and shooting the victim.

Officers were notified that the victim had driven himself to a local hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. The victim is listed in stable condition.

Update: Detectives prepared and submitted a warrant to Judge Ronald Ware, who signed the warrant and issued a bond of $125,000. Ronald Ray Singleton was entered into NCIC. He was located on May 26, 2016 in East Baton Rouge Parish and arrested by Baton Rouge City Police Department.
