Annette Pernell, center, was sworn in as the newly elected Orange City Council member District 4 on Tuesday morning. Her husband James, left, and Judge Jerry Pennington, right, congratulate her on her new position. Council Member District 2 Dr. Wayne Guidry and Council Member At Large Position 5 Bill Mello were also sworn in. Guidry and Mello were unopposed in the election. Council Member At Large Position 6 Larry Spears Jr. was named Mayor Pro Tem. Immediately after the adjournment of the meeting, Pernell cast her vote in the Primary Run-off election at the City of Orange Library. Early election continues 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. thru Friday, May 20.
