HUNTSVILLE — Two Orange County athletes were jumping for joy Friday as they punched their tickets to the Class 4A Track & Field Championships with stellar performances at the Class 4A Region III Track & Field Championships at Sam Houston State University.

Bridge City’s Hunter Denton captured the long jump title, going 22 feet, 5 ¾ inches to bring home regional gold.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville’s Trey Guillory will also be heading to Austin as he placed second in the triple jump with a tremendous mark of 45-8.
