More flooding expected

Orange County will be experiencing flooded roads in the City of Orange, West Orange, Bridge City, Vidor and some flooding in surrounding jurisdictions as well. The National Weather Service expects rain through Thursday and clear sky’s through the weekend.

One to three inches of additional rain is expected between this evening and Thursday. Flooded streets are expected to run off quickly as soon as Tuesday and Wednesday.

Please take caution on flooded roads. Do not drive down flooded roads.

Sandbags will be available at County Precinct Barns 3 and 4, in Vidor and Bridge City.

vailability and Quantity Sandbags shall be made available during high rain or flooding periods at the discretion of the Orange County Engineer and/or the Emergency Management Coordinator. There will be a limit of 50 pre‐FILLED sandbags per person, subject to availability, and unlimited UNFILLED sandbags per person. UNFILLED sandbags must be filled on site. UNFILLED sandbags may not be taken offsite unless they are FILLED.

Residents must provide their own means of transport for all sandbags.
