PRESS RELEASE — On Thursday April 14^th, at 9:32 p.m., Officers with the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 Block of Broad Street in reference to a subject being shot in the face. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 45-year old man with a gunshot wound to the face. Officers learned that the suspect attempted to rob the victim of his wallet, however the victim refused and was shot.

Investigation revealed that a 14-year male was responsible for the attempted robbery and shooting. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive his injuries. The juvenile has been located and arrested and is currently incarcerated in the Calcasieu Parish Juvenile Detention Center for Attempted 1^st Degree Murder.
