Juvenile arrested in connection with robbery, shooting

PRESS RELEASE — On Thursday April 14th, at 9:32 p.m., Officers with the Lake Charles Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 Block of Broad Street in reference to a subject being shot in the face. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, a 45-year old man with a gunshot wound to the face. Officers learned that the suspect attempted to rob the victim of his wallet, however the victim refused and was shot.

Investigation revealed that a 14-year male was responsible for the attempted robbery and shooting. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive his injuries. The juvenile has been located and arrested and is currently incarcerated in the Calcasieu Parish Juvenile Detention Center for Attempted 1st Degree Murder.

Investigating Detectives: Sergeant Garrett Graham, Sergeant John Russell, Sergeant Franklin Fondel and Corporal Andrea LeLeaux.

Arrested: 14 year old male
