BC diamond teams split in Silsbee

SILSBEE — The Bridge City Lady Cardinals moved their record to a perfect 10-0 and clinched the outright District 24-4A title by downing the Silsbee Lady Tigers 9-5 last Friday night.

Kassidy Wilbur, who was also the winning pitcher, went 2-for-4 at the plate with three runs batted in.

Baili Thibodaux was 2-for-4 with a RBI while Faith Kaufman was 1-for-4 with three RBI.

SILSBEE — The Silsbee Tigers took over first-place in the District 24-4A baseball race with a 4-3 eight-inning victory over the Bridge City Cardinals Friday night.

The win pushes Silsbee to 7-2 in district while the Cardinals are in a second-place tie with West Orange-Stark at 6-2.

The Cardinals led 3-1 in the sixth inning. However, the Tigers rallied for two runs in the bottom of the sixth and ended up winning in the eighth, scoring a run on a passed ball.

The Cardinals had 11 hits while the Tigers had seven.

Caleb Dubois had three hits for the Cardinals while Taner Doiron, Kyle Bergeron and Austin Fitts each had two.
