BC’s Petroski shoots way to State Golf Tourney again

HUNTSVILLE — For the second straight year Bridge City’s Skylar Petroski will be heading to the Class 4A State Golf Tournament.

Petroski earned fifth-place at the 4A Region III Championships at Raven Nest GolfClub in Huntsville Wednesday to qualify for the State Championships.

Petroski finished with a 152, firing a 77 and a 75.

The Bridge City team finished a solid fifth overall. Petroski was followed by teammates Justin Smith (174), Conner Guillotte (174), Blaze Montagne (179) and Ashton Grant (215).

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville boys claimed eighth-place overall.

The Bears were paced by Evan Toohey (162), Tyler Ridgaway (170), Reese Soliz (174), Trey Love (185) and Hunter Hooks (190).

The Class 4A State Golf Championships will be held Apr. 25-26 at Onion Creek Club in Austin.
