Bridge City Kindergarten Round-Up begins

BRIDGE CITY — Early registration for Kindergarten at Bridge City Elementary (BCE) begins on Monday, April 11.

BCE will be open from 5.p.m – 7 p.m.. Thurs. April 14 in the cafeteria for evening registration to accommodate those unable to reach the school during normal school hours.

During April 11 – April 22, parents are able to make teacher requests for students of all grade level. Parents or guardians must complete a form. No phone requests will be accepted.

The following guidelines apply to the Kindergarten program:

  • Students must be five years old on or before September 1, 2016.
  • A state certified birth certificate, complete immunization record, proof of residency in Bridge City ISD (electric, water, gas, or rental agreement) the student’s social security card and parents or guardians photo ID are required.
  • Current students who will be five years old by September 1, 2016 and will complete the 2015-2016 school year in PPCD, Speech, or Pre-K are not required to register for Kindergarten. They are automatically promoted.

Only complete packets will be accepted.

School personnel are asking anyone knowing parents of prospective Kindergarten children to inform them of the registration dates. The office at BCE School will be registering students from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day. For further information contact our office at 735-0900.

Texas State Compulsory Attendance Law mandates student attendance in school once enrolled in Pre-K or Kindergarten. Parents are subject to legal action and penalties for non-compliance with this law.
