One Vehicle Crash on FM 1006 Kills Bridge City Man

At approximately 10:30 a.m., there was a one vehicle crash on FM 1006 in Orange County.  The crash occurred in front of the DuPont Plant just one mile South of Orange.

A 2000 Toyotapassenger car. was southbound on FM 1006.  The driver lost control of the vehicle and travelled off the roadway.  The vehicle rolled over several times before coming to rest off the road.

The driver of the Toyota, Brian Wade Nelson (20) of Bridge City, was pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Price.  The passenger, Ryan Hensley, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with minor injuries. The passenger, Seth Ervin, was initially placed in a medical helicopter to be flown to an area hospital but his condition deteriorated rapidly and was immediately taken to Baptist hospital in Orange.  Ervin was later transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with serious injuries.  As of7:00a.m., Ervin’s condition was unchanged.

After initial investigation, Troopers suspect that the left front tire may have blown out which caused Nelson to lose control of the vehicle.

This is an ongoing investigation and all information is preliminary.
