Lady Bears, Cards net 24-4A softball wins

The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Lady Bears got off to a 2-0 start in District 24-4A softball action by getting a pair of wins on Friday and Saturday.

The Lady Bears got past the Oraqngefield Lady Bobcats 10-2 at home Friday as freshman pitcher Brianna Frenzel limited Orangefield to just three hits.

The Lady Bears put together 13 hits in the win.

On Saturday, the Lady Bears went to West Orange-Stark and defeated the Lady Mustangs 15-1 in six innings.

Jayce Perry got the win on the mound for LC-M as she limited the Lady Mustangs to two hits.

Kayla Manuel was 2-for-3 at the plate with five runs batted in.

The Bridge City Lady Cardinals improved to 2-0 for the 24-4A season by downing the Hamshire-Fannett Lady Longhorns 11-4.

The Lady Cardinals received a pair of RBI singles from Meagan Sourdellia and a home run blast by Kassidy Wilbur.

Wilbur got the win on the hill for BC. Peyton Trap tossed three shutout innings in relief and had three strikeouts.
