Multiple Vehicle Crash on Interstate 10 in Vidor Injures Two Drivers

PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 3:30pm, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a multiple vehicle crash on Interstate 10 near Vidor in Orange County. The crash involved two truck tractor semi-trailers and a passenger vehicle.
A Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on Interstate 10 when the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the inside guardrail. After striking the guardrail, the truck veered back into traffic and was struck by an 18-wheeler. The impact of the collision caused the 18-wheeler to strike the trailer of a second truck tractor semi-trailer.
The driver of the Chevrolet pickup truck was transported to Baptist hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the 18-wheeler that collided with the pickup truck was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the second 18-wheeler was not injured.
Westbound lanes of Interstate 10 near Vidor were shutdown for a brief period, but have since reopened.
All information is preliminary and further details will be released as information is confirmed. The names of those injured in this crash will be released to the media after Troopers have interviewed each driver.
