Bobcat tracksters fare well in Liberty

LIBERTY — The Orangefield track teams competed at the Trinity Valley Relays held at Liberty High School.

For the Lady Bobcats, Brooklyn Goldsmith pole-vaulted a personal-best of 9-6 to capture first-place while teammate Makenzie Davis went 8-6 to take second.

Julianne McManus captured first-place in the high jump by going 5-2.

Makenzie Davis jumped a personal-best of 14-11 to take third in the long jump.

McManus took fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:04.50. Davis was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a personal-best time of 52.34.

McManus was fifth in the 200 meters in 27.46 and Emily Havens was fifth in the 100 meters (13.43).

The Lady Bobcats finished fifth overall out of 13 teams.

For the Bobcat boys, Matthew Watkins nabbed second in the long jump by going 19 feet.

Tyler Jenkins went a personal best 13 feet to earn third in the pole vault.

Lane Rach was third in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.30. Dylan Westbrook earned third in the 200 meters (23.21) and fourth in the 100 meters (11.43).

Both Bobcat teams will compete in the Vidor Pirate Relays Thursday.
