UPDATE:

Due to bad weather, the new speed limit signs will not be installed today. Crews will replace all signs this Thursday. Weather permitting.

The speed limit along SH 87/SH 73 from West Port Arthur Road to Bridge City will be lowered Tuesday, February 23.

The Texas Transportation Commission passed a minute order December 17, 2015 allowing for the reduction in speed from 75mph to 65mph. The new speed limit will be enforceable once the new signs have been installed.
