Bears fall short at Hardin-Jefferson

SOUR LAKE — The Hardin-Jefferson Hawks went on a 22-8 run in the third quarter to hold off the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears in District 24-4A action Tuesday night.

The Hawks (9-1 in district) led 21-20 at the half before exploding in the third.

The Bears (4-6 in district) were paced by post Katon Brown, who poured in 16 points to go along with nine rebounds while guard Cameron Parker had nine points.

Michael Saladin paced the Hawks with 22 points.

The Bears will visit West Orange-Stark Friday in a vital 24-4A affair for both squads.
