LC-M golfers find tourney success
Both Little Cypress-Mauriceville golf teams found success this week in tournament action.
The Lady Bears snagged a second-place team finish at the Anahuac Tournament at Chambers County Golf Course, firing a team score of 385.
Senior Lauren Cox took top medalist honors with a sizzling 71. Also competing well were senior Kacie Nichols, junior Theresa Beckett, sophomore Jessica McLain and sophomore Marlee Bird.
Port Neches-Groves won the team crown and Lady Indian Brynna Bailey placed second behind Cox with a 77.
The LC-M boys had a solid outing at the Hardin-Jefferson Tournament.
Evan Toohey led the way with a 80, his best score ever as a high school player. Reese Soliz fired a 83 followed by Tyler Ridgaway (84), Trey Love (87) and Hunter Hooks (90).
