At last residents can scream for ice cream again.
Blue Bell ice cream will arrive at Kroger on 16th Street in Orange at 6 a.m., Monday, December 14.
“All Kroger stores in South East Texas will have Blue Bell ice cream Monday,” Kristal Howard, public relations manager with Kroger, said.
The first flavors to return are Buttered Pecan, Cookies ‘n Cream, Dutch Chocolate, Great Divide, Homemade Vanilla, Peppermint and Pistachio Almond. Customers can visit any Kroger in East Texas stores to pick up their favorite half-gallons, pints and cups.
Blue Bell began in 1907 as the Brenham Creamery Company.
Residents have questioned why it has taken so long for Blue Bell to return.
“We wanted to make sure we got it right,” according to Blue Bells official website. “All of the enhancements made in our facilities to procedures and equipment, and a “test and hold” procedure where ice cream is not distributed until the production run is tested, are designed to ensure that the ice cream we distribute is safe for consumers to enjoy.”
Blue Bell Creameries voluntarily recalled products earlier this year.
