Magical Music of Christmas Coming to Orange

ORANGE — Treasured Christmas music of Burl Ives, Brenda Lee, and Bing Crosby will be heard throughout Orange as the Kiwanis Club of Orange, Texas presents the 67th Annual Orange Christmas Parade featuring the “Magical Music of Christmas.”
The parade will start 6 p.m. at the MacArthur Drive Shopping Center where the Honorable Judge Courtney Arkeen will preside as grand marshal.
The lighted parade, being held in memory of the late Ben Culpepper, Jr., will include floats, bands, and dance teams from area schools, businesses, and organizations featuring their favorite Christmas songs we all know and love. Parade entry forms can be picked up at the Greater Orange Area Chamber of Commerce.
On the day of the parade, children’s activities including face painting, ornament making, and bounce houses will take place on 7th Street starting at 5:30 p.m. and ending at 9:00 p.m. Gumbo and pizza will be available for purchase. All of the good girls and boys will also have a chance to take a picture with Santa and tell him what they want for Christmas following the parade.
The Lutcher Theater will present a Christmas Laser Show at Stark Park at 8 p.m.
At 8:30 p.m., the parade award’s ceremony will take place near the judge’s stand in front of City Hall.
The City of Orange will host the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting at City Hall where Mayor Jimmy Sims will light the Christmas tree, donated by Corporate Sponsor, International Paper, at 8:45 p.m.
