Bears fight off PN-G, 44-43

LITTLE CYPRESS — The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Bears opened their 2015-16 campaign Tuesday night with a tight 44-43 victory over the Port Neches-Groves Indians at The Bear Cave.

Isaiah Reagins powered the LC-M attack, scoring 11 points while snagging nine rebounds. Cameron Parker chimed in with 10 points.

Ram Polvarapu hit five three-pointers for the Indians to finish with a game-high 15 points while Ryan Abel contributed 10.

The game was tight throughout. LC-M led 12-8 at the end of the first quarter and 17-15 at the half. PN-G cut it to 26-25 at the end of the third but the Bears were able to hang on.

The Bears will welcome in Beaumont Kelly Friday night.
