Durham-Ellis Nut Fundraiser

Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Bridge City has started their annual Durham-Ellis nut & products fundraiser. This fundraiser supports their Music Program, which provides scholarships to Music Major Students at our colleges and universities. This year they are selling Pecan halves 1 lb. bag for $8.75, Pecan pieces 1 lb. bag for $8.25, Walnut halves & pieces 1 lb. bag for $8.25, Roasted Cashews 1 lb. bag for $ 6.75, Raw Almonds 1 lb. bag for $6.50, Trash Mix 1 lb. bag for $ 3.50, Hot & Spicy Peanuts 1 lb. bag for $ 2.50, Peanut Brittle 7 oz. bag for $ 3.50, Frosted Praline Pecan 12 oz. bag for $8.75 and Frosted Praline Pecan 12 oz. bag for $8.75.

Cove Baptist Church “Pumpkin Patch” Fundraiser. Cove Baptist Church, 1005 Dupont Drive, Orange, Texas. October 17 – 31, 2015 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m., Monday – Saturday.

 

Loyalty Month Banquet

The congregation of the Mount Sinai Baptist Church 1113 North Second Street is hosting “An Evening of Celebration “Saturday, October 24, at 6:30 P.M. Mr. Bennie Smith, a Layman from Salem United Methodist of Orange will be the guest speaker of the hour. All ministry leaders will be recognized.  Each patron is asked to donate a fee of $20.00. Additional information maybe obtained by contacting the church office at 886-2089.

 

Breast Cancer Awareness Special Program

Mt. Olive Baptist Church will hold a Breast Cancer Awareness Special Program

At 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 25 at 106 West Park Ave. in Orange. Special Guest Mrs. April Wilson Allen, RN, of the Starlight Church of God In Christ will be speaker; all survivors attend and receive a gift. Everyone wear pink. Special Song Service by the choir. A Pink Out for October.

 

Open Mic Gospel Singing

Everyone is invited to New Anointing Church at 6 p.m., Friday, October 30, for an ole-fashioned gospel singing. This is an open-mic singing, so bring your favorite gospel song on tape, CD or you can sing with the band, what ever the Lord directs you to do. If you play a musical instrument, bring it with you.  If you just want to come and listen and be ministered to through gospel music…. Come on bring a friend!!!  This will be an evening of worship, praise and testimonies, lifting up the name of JESUS. The church is located at 10681 N. Fall Festival

Wesley United Methodist Church, 401 N. 37th St. in Orange, will be celebrating its Fall Festival from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 31. The event will include hayrides, games, food, trunk or treat and a new feature, the safari bus. The public is invited.

 

Fall Fest

The entire community is invited to come for Fall Fest on October 31st at 6-8 pm at the North Orange Baptist Christian Life Center. Enjoy candy, games, face painting, candy, popcorn, cotton candy, hotdogs, and candy! This event is always free and we encourage you to bring your family and friends. Open Mic Gospel Singing

Harvest Chapel Church, 1305 Irving St. in West Orange, will have its Open Mic Gospel Singing event at 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6. Bring your CD or instrument if you wish to participate and be a blessing or just come and listen and receive a blessing.

 

Annual Gift Shop and Luncheon

The Saint Mary Altar Society Annual Gift Shop and Luncheon will be held 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, in the Saint Mary Catholic Church Parish Hall located at 912 West Cherry.  For sale there will be homemade baked and canned goods, crafts, Christmas gifts galore, frozen entrees prepared by the ladies, a Silent Auction, Mrs. Santa’s Workshop, and much more.  A Gumbo Luncheon will be served from 11 a.m. -1 p.m.  Take-Out is available, with containers furnished, and there is delivery available on orders of 5 or more.  For delivery, call by November 17.  The $8 meal consists of gumbo and rice, potato salad, crackers, drink, and a dessert.  All proceeds go to Saint Mary Altar Society.  Come, browse, shop, eat, and bring a friend!

 

Volunteers needed

Christian Women’s Job Corp – Golden Triangle is accepting applications for volunteers. Opportunities include mentoring, teaching life and job skills, and Bible study, to name a few. CWJC welcomes all Christian women, who would like to help change lives. To apply please call 409-882-7010.
