ATV Crash Sends Teenager to the Hospital

PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 6p.m., Saturday, there was a  motor vehicle crash on Dixie Road that involved an All Terrain Vehicle (ATV).  The crash occurred on Dixie Road near FM 2802 in Orange County.

A 2007 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling northbound on Dixie Road.  The driver of an ATV failed to yield the right of way from a private driveway and pulled out in front of the Chevrolet.  The ATV struck the Chevrolet in the front right quarter panel of the vehicle.

The driver of the ATV, a 17-year-old teenager of Vidor, was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with extensive damage to one of his legs and he is expected to recover.  The driver of the Chevrolet, William Branum,67, of Bridge City, was not injured in the crash.
